For the 11th successive year, the UAAC Community Outreach Programme was in full swing when members visited Siyazigabisa Home of Hope in Isivana Section, Thembisa, on 10 August 2019. Ma-Bishop Muzila, Gauteng Women ‘s Leader Jev Mbatsane, Thembisa ‘s Councillor Singo, Jev Nnzeru, Youth Leaders Ramutsheli and Mudau, led the youth during the visit which reaffirmed the UAAC ‘s drive to help and assimilate with those in need.
Since inception on 26 June 2008 by Archbishop Dr EMM Mureri, the UAAC Community Outreach Programme has ensued in donations of food parcels, children toys, clothes, cash and other valuables as we shined the light of God’s love into the lives of those in need.
During this year ‘s visit, we again spent the whole day at the home, doing daily household chores for the children, plumbing, painting, cleaning and preparing the meals for the day. After all these, a short church service directed by Gauteng Youth Secretary, Phumudzo Ramufhufhi, ensued and the energetic Takalani Mamburu delivered a sermon reassuring all that our gathering was not meant to “push time”, but for a divine appointment with God. He read from the book of James 1:26-27 which reassured all that pure religion is when you visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. Jev Mbatsane and the Youth leaders performed the official handover of all donations, whilst Ma-Bishop Muzila and Councilor Singo provided words of support to both the UAAC and the caretakers of Siyazigabisa Home of Hope as well as the children who were conspicuously elated to be visited by the UAAC.
As the church, we express a huge warmhearted thanks to all generous donors who made the visit possible. We are reminded of the scriptures in the book of 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 which says, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously”. We say to you that God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
As a church, we were also touched to hear the expression of thanksgiving for what we offered by the Head of the Home of Hope, Ms Gab’sile Khoza, who indicated that she was happy to spend the whole day with us and the kids. We vowed to continue praying for her and the Home to ensure that they grow and nurture tomorrow ‘s leaders, who are our brothers and sisters.
With God on our side, we will continue the annual community outreach.
