Peace unto all UAAC members.
As per the Presidents of our countries’ (Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe) exhortation to stay indoors as part of Covid-19 containment measures, Archbishop IJ Mureri reiterates his call for UAAC members to continue adhering to lockdown and social distancing regulations.
However, our online services continue every Sunday at 13:00. By 10 May 2020, we already have had sermons by UAAC members from Mutale, Harare, Limbedzi, Bochum, Sefako Makgatho and Soweto 1 districts. Members in various districts are participating in our virtual Sunday services starting at 11:00 on our church ‘sanctioned media platforms. In this regard, the following districts have participated and continue doing so: Victoria Falls, Gwanda, Balethavha, Limbedzi, Free State, Mpumalanga, Mabopane, Thohoyandou, Malamulele, Pretoria, Thembisa, Alexander, Vuwani, Musina, Niani, Vhembe, Thondo, Tshitasi, Tshipise, Dzanani, Sibasa, Waterberg and Mutshundudi. The services will continue until authorities allow us to return to our places of worship.
In addition, we also conduct our virtual services in accordance with our church calendar. Limpopo Youth and Gauteng Women Conferences have already been successfully conducted online services on their respective dates. We will continue in this manner as there are still many conferences, viz Limpopo Women Conference, Zimbabwe Women National Conference, National Youth Conference, and Zimbabwe International Conference.
As UAAC members, we still believe in the power of the Almighty GOD, that he will invoke his grace for health scientists to find cure or vaccine. In the meantime, let us continue following World Health Organization guidelines of washing hands, wearing masks and observing social distancing. It is also imperative that we continue praying for those infected and affected by the pandemic.
Rugare Ma-United.
