The 2019 Limpopo Women Conference proceeded seamlessly at Ha-Kutama Sport Ground on 31 May to 02 June 2019. It was graced by the presence of Vhembe Executive Mayor, Cllr Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya and members of the Ravele Royal family that were delegated by Chief Ravele who could not attend due to prior engagements. The trio of UAAC Bishops, Muzila, Hlabangwana and Maleho were complemented by proxies of other Bishops such as Superintendent Netshidzivhani for Bishop Nemakonde and Cllr Mutsitsielwa for Bishop Muravha, which translated into attendance of 5 UAAC Bishops.
The UAAC faithful painted the whole “Western” area blue and white as they moved freely to stores and other amenities during the 3 day conference. The elderly led the procession as they delivered sermon after sermon calling for exemplary leadership among women as well as urging them to build good families. As per Biblical teachings in the book of Titus 2:3-5 young women were mentored by elderly women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
The Women leadership comprising of Jevrou Maluleke as National leader, Head of Inspectors Chief Inspector Ramalamula, Senior Inspector Tshisikhawe, Inspector Maudu, Jev Mbatsane and others all took turns encouraging UAAC Women to live and protect the legacy of Dr Archbishop EMM Mureri as well as leading exemplary lives.
National Chairperson Nelufhangani ‘s address mainly focused on encouraging Women to stick together as well as building the church at all times. He eloquently expressed satisfaction with the role that women in general are playing at church. “Your resilience and hard is conspicuous by your actions and for that reason, we shall always support you”, he said.
Vhembe Exceutive Mayor, Cllr Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, who was also the Guest Speaker thanked the UAAC for the cordial relations it has with the governing party, the ANC. He reminded congregants about the acquaintanceship of the two entities that began in their creation in 1912. He reiterated that the though he was there in his capacity as Executive Mayor, he just had to thank church members and all the Vhembe District Municipality residents for their vote of confidence in the ANC as Vhembe was one of the 3 District, nationally, that voted for the ANC back into power during the National and Provincial Elections on 08 May 2019. He asked for prayers from the UAAC, indicating that as government they feel as part of the church. Paying homage to the late Archbishop Dr EMM Mureri, the Mayor indicated though he is no longer with us, the government will always remember him as the leader of the church who was closer to all spheres of Government and will therefore attend church gatherings in his honor. He concluded his address by wishing all the congregants and delegates well for the future as they continue spreading the word of GOD.
Honorable Ramabulana, on behalf of Chief Ravele expressed appreciation to the UAAC for choosing their area as host of the conference, adding that the Apostolic Church is well known for praying for peace and harmony and that through prayers, droughts and other natural disasters dissipate as it rains in torrents after gatherings such as the Women Conference . He also reminded people that he was also a UAAC members in his early days under the late Dalana. He reiterated the call made the Executive Mayor that we should emulate the Archbishop and live his legacy, indicating that even Chief Ravele has strong reverence for the late Archbishop. He then wished the church well for the future and indicated that they will always support it.
Bishops Maleho, Hlabangwana and Muzila unanimously urged all the people to remain united at all times.
